Certification in Health Coaching

Health counseling is a process of change in order to achieve health goals. It is used to move from a currently unsatisfactory situation to a more desirable and functional one. The coach (an expert who uses coaching) enables the patient to change their perspective: from the feeling of inability to face their health problems to an independent person who is responsible for their own care and feels less sick. Because having an illness is not synonymous with being and feeling sick .

This methodology is used both at a preventive level (healthier lifestyle) and for chronic diseases (improving compliance with controls and treatments ...), as scientific studies have shown its usefulness. Coaching is useful for both patients and their families and the professionals treating them .

In their university education, professionals learn to diagnose, treat, nurse and care for the sick, but acquire few skills to communicate effectively with patients and / or manage difficult situations in their professional practice. Health counseling provides skills and tools to facilitate change for both patients and healthcare professionals .

Health coaching helps health professionals communicate more effectively and caringly with patients to help them make change.
